Thought I would share this weekend’s endeavours. Spent a few hours hacking and bashing in the garage again. Not a great fan of wind-stops but just couldn’t resist making one anyway. Hopefully this will make those touring trips a little more bearable for the long suffering   Inspired by Dave’s “how to” headrest version but with a slightly different twist regarding the attachments. Using a couple of homebrew quick release catches this little stop can be installed/removed in seconds without removing the headrest.   5mm Perspex makes the stop is stiff and ridged.   Clamps made from 12mm Acetal. A nice strong engineering plastic that is easy to work with and can be picked up on ebay. The geometry ensures only a very light holding force is transferred to the headrests and seat.  And can be stowed down behind the seats when the side screens are off and the baseball cap is on.  All that remains now is a decent test drive

Rog , Morgan need to take you on as a paid consultant , I'm not kidding , this is excellent as is the rear suspension device you put on here not long ago , brilliant stuff !

Yes but it's still windy. Nothing blows between the seats though. Better with a rear tonneau cover in place. My only disappointment is that the perspex doesn't stay mint for very long - it soon gets marked - even the head restraints rub marks into the surface, but otherwise is well worthwhile.

Good job and smart design, but only one question: Have the 2 seats to be at the same extension and inclination due to the clamps lay out?

Could you put a sacrificial film on to the perspex? Yet to find out how much of an issue this will be. Maybe any marks on the tinted Perspex will be less conspicuous than on Dave’s clear. Also the stop is quite well supported, the fixed load and the two stabilising tongues on the back of the seat prevents it flapping around which should cut down any rubbing . There’s always Perspex polish! Good job and smart design, but only one question: Have the 2 seats to be at the same extension and inclination due to the clamps lay out? The first time I fitted it there was a about an inch differences in seat position. I didn’t even notice it until I placed the stop behind the seat to take the photo so yes it is possible and it appears quite tolerant. The stop’s torsional or twist strength is not that high and you could always slot the holes in the Perspex to increase the range. I guess it’s only limited by how “odd” it starts to look.
