I drove from Phoenix to LA yesterday, 374 miles at about 80mph without a single hiccup. This is significant because I just got the rig back after having it gone for 6 months getting it's frame replaced. I got caught in a really bad road repair traffic snarl on the Cajon pass and am happy to report that "Love Jugs" do indeed work!! I purposely let the engine go into skip fire mode, turned on the fans and the idle returned to normal after about 45 seconds. With the entire car being taken apart and then reassembled, this was kind of an acid test to make sure that neither myself or the shop missed anything. Next week, we are off to Ft. Bragg on the Mendicino coast above San Francisco, plan to get on the 1 just above San Fran and run all the way by the beach. Can't wait!!

Get'em young!

Kai was a bit nervous before his trip out but was grinning from ear to ear afterwards!

A good way to eliminate any nerves is to ensure that Kai has worked off all nervous energy before the next trip out - a few hours gardening should do the trick - or clean the tin top.

Fantastic Nippy. I couldn't even get my wife to take the wheel on the road let alone a track. I find that, when starting, many women need much praise, all the time, so they are confident they are doing it correctly. It won't be long before she is sprinting in earnest - and beating you...

Just a word about steering though, when she starts getting the hang of the car on track, try and tell her, whilst on track only, to hang onto the wheel without moving her hands too much on the rim - rotational steering as against push-pull.

She's a winner there Graham! You might find yourself in the passenger seat more often than you would like!

I agree entirely. The 'push-pull' method can get you into a lot of trouble, even on public roads, apart from wombling about at walking speed.
