What ever source I find, everywhere the oil filling amount is 1.2 litres for the Ford MT75 gearbox (fitted for 4/4 and +4 till 2010, later Mazda MX-5 gearbox), only Morgan owner's manual (+4, MY2009) says 1,7 litres.

What is correct?

For comments many thanks in advance!

As it is filled and levelled by the fill hole I am not sure how you'd over fill it? Obviously done on the level, not jacked up at one end or side only!

Stick with the 1.2 litres it'll be level with the fill hole bottom lip within 0.5 mm depending on temperatures of oil and box.

Maybe the 1.7 is a classic Morgan Typo! and oil changes are supposed to be messy wink

Seems like 1.2Ltrs as in the link.
http://www.super7thheaven.co.uk/components/mt75-gearbox/

Morgan quote 1.7Ltr for the R380 gearbox but it's more like 1.2Ltrs when I change it.
So I think the needle must be stuck at Morgan handbooks..

Just done my 2011 +4.It took a bottle and a bit, about 1.7 litres!.Do it on the flat and fill it from inside the engine bay using a funnel and a bit of tubing.Fill until it starts to run back out of the filler hole.Hope this helps.

Many thanks for the feedback. Not the (over)filling itself is an issue, I just am curious what is the official amount of oil in the MT-75 gearbox, and is there a mistake in the owner's manual, giving 1.7 litres.
