I have a split in the nearside wiper blade on my 2008 Plus 4, which will need replacing before the MOT. Can the rubber just be replaced, or is it a case of replacing the assembly back as far as where it clips on the arm?
If just rubber replacement is it generally available (in, say, Halfrauds?)

Complete Wiper arm is about a tenner, you can't replace the rubber for that.
Bhm are very good for that sort of spare.

I can't believe we are still using wiper blades that were invented before the war - first world war that is.

Hasn't anyone found a better solution? We all know that it never rains in England but on the odd occasion that it does you would have thought someone would have had the initiative to design a system for the Morgan that actually makes vision through the windscreen possible.

Someone posted a link to a Land Rover specialist (so I suspect it may have been Graham?) I bought 3 blades from them, posted to Leicester for under a tenner. They are a tad longer but cut easily with tin snips. Also they are black, thought it might look a bit off but on a silver car they look fine. Much better quality and clearing capability then the MMC ones as well as as I was cutting them trimmed to give more sweep area.

Rainex is quite good....but not a full replacement.

The Australians have a solution too - WA works 99% of the time smile

I have "manufactured" replacements by using parts of modern Bosch Wipers. I am very happy to say that they actually work and wipe the screen rather than spread the smear about like the standard ones. I will get around to photographing the bits and the process and will post here -- they make a huge difference!!

Cheers!
