Soft shoesoles are a pain in the a**.
Doing several hours of twisty roads now every day I start to hate my Sebago Docksiders as they are too soft. I'm far awy from racing the car but frequent gearshifting and acceleration are needed on the mountain roads. Traveling with limited luggage the only alternative are some old fashioned Budapesters....
Next time better shoes!

I was looking at the Piloti shoes on Allon Whites stand at MOG15. The brown leather brogue style driving boots, Campione, took my fancy.......but £325 and I'd not like to walk around in them....the soles would not last long!

I had a good look at the Piloti shoes when last at Allon White and was tempted. But the price put me off in the end. A lot of surfing found some Puma Driving Shoes - around £70 with a Ferarri logo and around £45 with no logo - very nearly a bargain. They are slim enough for my purposes and reasonably comfortable to walk in. The sole is a composite of some kind but appears durable.

I have a black leather version of their Ferrari shoes and they are very good and comfortable driving shoes for me. I got them with on a promotion and paid about £35

I've found Puma speedcats, drift cats, or replicats to be great driving or walking shoes. Nice thin sole, high back on the heal, and narrow foot. I think I've had at least 6 pairs over the past 15 years.
