Just back from a driving holiday in the + 4 through Spain, one of the other cars on the trip the driver of a Mercedes mentioned the legal necessity to have a spare wheel or a suitable repair kit in Spain (My Morgan does have a spare) I didn't really believe him, but just checked the AA and it seems it is a legal necessity, see below and be aware of a few other differences ..

After living and driving in Spain for 15 years this might help:
Indicators need not be used after passing the driving test.
Always overtake, on the inside or offside, because one always has to be in front of the car in front.
(The above is advice from a very good Spanish friend of mine)
You will always be cut up at roundabouts.
A lot of road calming measures are designed to rip the guts out of your car thereby providing much needed work for mechanics.
A €50 note will get you out of most situations with the police. Don't try it with The Guardia Civil. These are the guys dressed in green usually carrying machine guns.
Enjoy your drive through Spain.

WOX9 I believe that it was your Morgan in the Paradore at Santillana del Mar. In Cyprus, where we lived for a while, when asking why Cypriots do not indicate when turning the response was that 'It was nobody else's business where they were going'. Also red lights were only advisory. After Cyprus, Spanish drivers are positive angels

So are we saying that even if the car is not designed to have a spare wheel - eg the Sport derivative such as mine, then an extra wheel must be carried in Spain?

No. You can carry an aerosol repair kit.

....and remember, contrary to what the song would have you believe, the rain stays mainly in the hills.
