Sorry if it's not your thing but after searching for 45 years (yes really), I have finally found and purchased a 1932 Selmer Maccaferri guitar. Meaningless to some, everything in the world to others! Had to tell someone.

Very different, I have a couple of lovely Martins but these Maccafferris have a completely different type of sound. Theybare hen's teeth as not many were made. Hundreds of copies around of course and I've had my share of those........

Only in my dreams Giles. I imagine you hear a good few excellent players in your part of the world?

That is a beauty, always had guitars since childhood, only ever made noise on them.....wish I had learnt to play properly. Sat looking at my EKO J54 covered in dust on its guitar stand and feeling guilty.

I have an EKO 12-string, L/H strung which I should give a lot more attention to.

Lucky man - I inherited my father's Ibanez Maccaferri, but it wasn't for me - though great for the music it was designed to play. I'm a Taylor man these days; they are alive when you play them!

Enjoy your new environmental enrichment (and is that "Nuages" I can hear you playing in the background?).

Just remember - a man cannot have too many guitars!

Nick, if you are ever down near Exeter, take some time to visit Mansons.
