Hi everybody,
I am from Steinhagen in Germany. After 17 years in a MX 5, which I zinc coated recently, in order to last another 17 years, I was tired of dreaming and bought my dream car, a Roadster in gun metal grey. Everyone here knows, what this car does, so no need to mention, I am the happiest man in the world. There are about 500 or so questions about the car, but for now I have a non car related one. In July I want to collect my son, who attends a soccer camp organised by Manu. We want to take our time and booked the ferry to Dover a day early. Is there a recommended B&B half way between Dover and Manchester, where Volvos are accepted, since my wife insisted to join? We would love a nice place in the countryside. Thank you for every advice!

Hi Stonehagen and welcome to the forum
Nice car and a good colour
Half way from Dover to Manchester is likely to be around the Midlands if coming up the M1 then on to the M6 then somewhere just off the M6 South East of Birmingham would be good - it is quite rural so someone must know of somewhere nice

Stonehagen, welcome to the forum. Could I suggest that if you have time, to have your overnight stop near the Morgan factory at Malvern Link, and arrange a factory visit, before continuing your journey to Manchester.

Hi Stonehagen and welcome to both TM and Morgan. You chose the model of Morgan very well!
As already said, the Midlands area is a good place to break your journey and what better place than Malvern where a tour around the factory would be a great idea if you had time. And if you don't have the time, at least you will see the area where your car started its life. I can't comment on what accommodation is available apart from a pleasant B&B that Numog and I stayed in last week in the Barnards Green area of Malvern, a mile from the factory. It's called the Cannara Guest House and has four en suite bedrooms, some secure parking and is run by a charming couple.

The Belfrey is a nice place to stay. Good call, I'd forgotten about that, it is nice if getting over to Malvern is a bit far

Thank you for your ideas and comments. I am afraid, Malvern is indeed a bit far. I googled a Belfry in Wishaw. http://www.thebelfry.co.uk/signature-offers.htmIs this the one, you were talking about? Stonehagen

The Belfry has been approved by my local authorities! Thank you again for your input. I hope next time there will be sufficient time for a trip to Malvern. On Friday my so far unnamed car will get its 1500 km oil change. I am looking forward to what's happening beyond 3500 rpm.
