After a more and more ratteling car, my turn to have my compensator changed under garantee confused. My dealer agreed to this and put the new one in order, telling me that Morgan will not upgrade or give me the possibility to pay the difference for the Centa drive mad2... But having a talk with the Mecanic which I questioned about the compensator, told me that he just have changed one on a M3W and that the new one would not float in the grease any more but is settled in a rubber.

Is that by miracle the Centa happy3 or just an upgrade from the old compensator?!?

Cheers,
Georges

That sounds like a Centa drive compensator. I don't think it makes financial sense for Morgan to stock anything else now..

Certainly sounds like a Centa. Don't remember anything rubber in the older compensators.

I am still not satisfied with the "new" compensator in my 2014.
I still have to keep the revs up around 3000 rpm to avoid the rattle.
I hope the life of the Centa will be better though.
I can live with the aggressive driving style.

My 2014, Centa equipped car can easily potter on a light throttle at just over 2000rpm..

Never had any issues with that part of the car.

I was able to observe the innards of a Centra compensator when mine was being installed. It has three large rubber rods inside to take up the twisting load. No grease.
