An e-mail from my dealer informs me - 'Morgan have just announced revised specifications for their longest running model, the 4/4. As a result, prices start at only £29,995 - not bad for a hand built sports car!' Half hand built, just about. Considering that it can be assembled in about 15 working days, and most components are outsourced, accept body compartment, bonnet seat coverings and carpets, IMO it's getting expensive for a poverty model when you compare what else you can buy for the same. Basically I presume if you add windscreen, hood, side screens and wipers to get a usable car it will be pushing £34-35k with vat. A not very subtle marketing ploy. Will make for a hard sell in my mind.

I think Marketing must have gone on a Training Course on pricing policy.

Adrian...it's a mistake on Allon Whites website....the screen comes with the basic price! And value? Well the additional cost of the 3.7 over the 1.6 when the same chassis, suspension and body is a common component makes the 4/4 seem quite reasonable.

Does this mean that we are likely to see new 4/4s at around the £30k mark? Which would be a significant reduction.
Looking for another Morgan!

If I recall, easy up is around £1200, and traditional MMC were asking £2K then side screens I presume will be around £600 pair. So with VAT still about £32.5K minimum. Still seems a bit much to me, but I suppose any manufacturer will charge what they think they can get away with.

The way I read the offer it includes a Hood/side screens?
Please correct me if I am wrong - maybe just wishful thinking/reading???!!!

Unless Morgan have suddenly dropped the price of the 4/4....as I may find out in the staff meeting tomorrow, I wonder if Allon White has picked up an earlier price just as they have included the cost of a screen and roof to the Plus8/Speedster? I'll check tomorrow. A standard easy up hood in black everflex and side screens trimmed in black everflex comes with the basic car. Additional costs come in if you want a coloured "superior" everflex hood, mohair or if you want the traditional 9 stud hood and accompanying hood. As for price, every manufacturer charges what the market will bear....can you blame them? (look at your fruit stall )

just had a quick look at the Allon White website on their 4/4 pricing info and they do seem to have gone out on a limb and done something different to other dealers who have just published the official on-line the Morgan April 2015 price list
Williams have used the Morgan price list which states the base model at around £29K Plus VAT which bring it to £34K
Allon White however, (and I don't think it is a mistake), publish the base model at 29K INCLUDING VAT but have packaged the easy up hood, heated windscreen, wipers and sidescreens as an additional cost which would bring it to around £34K inc vat (in fact, by my reckoning, a tad more as it's the Easy-up hood)
I can't see how you can actually buy the 4/4 for £29K inc Vat unless Allon White have asked for a Speedster type stripped down 4/4 exclusive for their sales - maybe if someone wants to customise for racing perhaps

Sprat and mackerel comes to mind............. Probably but it would be interesting to find out if you can actually get a 4/4 for £29K INC VAT from Allon White and what it would come with I would ring up to find out but would be a bit disingenuous as I'm not in the market for another Morgan just yet and I'm not a good bluffer! Don't answer that !!!!
