If anyone finds an online source for the thumb-screw fasteners let us know.
French hardware stores are useless for anything like this! Likewise British, which have decimated by B&Q and the like

Looks like there is some interest for this mod, be welcome,...funny is, to recognize who's on the TM Forum, just look who has Thumbscrews in the M3W trunk

Thanks. Why not unscrew one of yours & measure the length..? They are M5 thread except an odd one at the back I think.
