Thank you for letting me join this group.
Firstly I hope I have posted my first post in the right place
After many years as an my MG ownner I have decide to take the plunge.
Like many I was confused by the number of options available on cars and their value / usefulness. In the end I was attracted by the simplicity of the 1.6 sport and have puchased a 4 year od model with 2,100 mls of the clock.
So far everything is great is great. The aircon does not appeared to work but I was greatly supprised that it is fitted in the first place. May be it just needs regassing. Can't see when I will get to use it though. My first changes will probable be to change the steering wheel to a Moto lita and fit a luggage rack

Welcome Steve. There are plenty of ex-MG owners on TM so you're among friends.
I haven't heard of the 1.6 coming with aircon. Note that the button is there and will light up when the fan/blower is on, even when there's no aircon.

Hi Steve, Welcome aboard. You'll find the 4/4 loads of fun and especially so when worked hard. You've made a wise choice. Hurry up and get the Moto lita fitted and the driving gloves bought or you'll have the MP's (Morgan Police) after you!

Thanks for the update on the aircon.
There is a button and an indicator lamp but I must admit I cant see a compressor
You have saved me looking dumb in front of the dealer.
Though I think the salesman thought it was fitted I had my doubts at the time
I understand that it is fitted to some American spec Roadsters

Steve welcome from the US side of the water. 4/4 is a great choice. You will love it.
Re Aircon and American Roadsters, I haven't seen one without it, but nobody claims it works well. There are only 82 3.0L (Series 1?) Roadsters in the US. They all came in legally in 2005, something about only that many US certified Air Bags.
There are are some ongoing attempts to get the 3.7L in the US, through dealer efforts rather than factory imports. But I don't know of any cars as yet.
Cheers and again, Welcome!
