Welcome Steve, from another Steve. All type of questions and queries can be answered on TM, you're be surprised. Yes, there is a bewildering variety of Morgans, and no two are the same as you can customise (if that is the correct word) the Trad on an on-going basis. Although mine is 1989 I have upgraded brakes and suspension so that it is almost 2015 specification. I'm always asking myself "Do I need more power. Do I want to upgrade/replace the Ford 1.6 lt. CVH engine" etc. etc. Many you have many (s)miles in you Morgan, and yes it does take a long time to fill up with petrol, as everyone wants to talk to you about the car.

Hi Steve welcome. My 4+ year old 4/4 sport has great aircon - it either comes over the doors, back round the sidescreens or through the hood if raining!. Seriously though - the light is on - but no aircon under the bonnet - reminds me of most of the kids I used to teach. I love my 4/4 sport - now aproaching 20K on the clock - enjoy! Now to be fully accepted you have to come up with your first fish joke/pun. AIRCOD!?

Wishing you a warm welcome to TM Steve and wishing you many happy adventures in your Sport. They are great cars and I thoroughly enjoyed my 24,000mls in her. They encapsulate the true spirit of the early 4/4's I think H.F.S. would be pleased with them.

Welcome Steve.. The 4/4 is great fun and as Roger says just gets better and better as you put miles on the clock. Work it hard to maximise the enjoyment

Thanks for the update on the aircon.
There is a button and an indicator lamp but I must admit I cant see a compressor
You have saved me looking dumb in front of the dealer.
Though I think the salesman thought it was fitted I had my doubts at the time
I understand that it is fitted to some American spec Roadsters
Now an option on the Plus 4, we have it. There is a weakness in the circuitry though. If the car is started with the aircon and headlights turned on there is a relay that turns off all "options" and the lights to direct full power to the starter. When the engine starts there can be a power surge that burns out the dash circuit board. This only applies to the pre-GDI Plus 4 fitted with aircon as far as I know. I have had it happen 3 times now
