One of the Marks at the factory told me when they changed my chassis( very close to end of warranty) that Morgan would not let any customer down with a broken chassis. Implicit in his statement; taking into account the tone of our discussion was that a broken chassis in or out of warranty would be dealt with by the factory. Although a very serious problem I have personally identified two broken chassis on cars in use, which even the owners did not detect. It apears there is enough metal and bracing in place to stop a catastrophic failure occurring and perhaps it is for this reason there hasn't been a recall.
If the chassis is going to go it will usualy start to show problems around 4000 miles.
It is easy to get despondent with the 3W. However once back in the old girl and all is forgiven. The more you drive them the more you fall in love.

Im just anxiously waiting for the used market to flop on these so I can swoop in and snag one. I have enough engineers in my family that I'm sure Ill be set for whatever could arise.

Looking at ads. for various models over a few months it occurred to me that a 10 yr. old Morgan is roughly worth what it was when new.

So with that in mind if I keep mine for 10 yrs. I should get back most of my initial investment, and will have had the pleasure of owning and driving it for that time as well.

In another 9 years or so I will probably not be able to get in and out of it quite so easily either.

After I paid my deposit in November 2910 I asked myself 'Have you taken leave of your senses' many times during the wait for the car.
Delivered in July 2012 I have never entertained the thought since. It cost best part of £37K but I have had so much fun who cares what it cost. I fell in love with an old one in the 1950's when I was 15 and it took until 2012 to get one. I will never wait for anything as long again !

My 2012 chassis was modified at the factory to include the welded in 'A' brace at the front. The car was outside waranty at the time and the chassis had not cracked but I wanted it done as a precaution. They did not charge me for it, although it was done at the same time as the Centa/Urban Cooling upgrades (oh and a cam belt change) so my bank account was fairly well depleted in favour of MMC anyway! spend
