The very earliest cars didn't even have the bolt in cross brace. Well after the bolt in brace came the welded in gusset plates and possibly(?) at the same time came a change in the steel specification for the chassis tubes and a fractionally thicker nominal wall thickness on them too. Sometime about the start of 2014 the bolt in brace was replaced by the welded triangulated tubular bracing. I don't know if the gusset plates were retained or deleted at that point.

Thank you very much to all who helped me when I was writing my book, to those who bought it and to those who reviewed it.

Best wishes for Christmas and the New Year.

Got the cheque then, Peter..?? innocent

Joking aside, thank you for making all the effort. It's a lovely tome.

Happy Christmas to you too, my friend.

Just read the book. It arrived yesterday which pretty much says it all.

Some suggestions for any 2nd edition smile :
1. Could do with another proof read. There were a few discontinuities which made me ask "didn't he already say that" or "what that about"...
2. Could do with a bigger intro about the author (as this includes personal anecdotes).
3. The TM references could be expanded into a "Customers cars" with experiences, favourites etc.

In summary: great car book, and must-read for anyone contemplating an M3W... as a paper alternative to TalkMorgan trawling anyway!
