I fully admit though that I don't see why the mechanical upgrades are not available as an "ARP4" pack, though, with all other options and spec available from the regular options list. That would be ideal.
I bet that AR P4 bits will make into standard +4s by mid 2016.

Defiantly they would not go to all the development expense just for one car...would they!!??

Cosworth is a great brand, no doubt, but it's not a deal clincher or breaker for me. The devil is in the detail. I want a fast 4, but not this one.
There should be a delete options list. Delete lights for standard Delete sound system Delete exhaust tail pipe for standard Delete domed cover for spare wheel Delete black window surrounds - Ugh - one of my least favourite options Delete 'Demon Tweeks' wheels for either Plus 8 alloys or wires Delete 'Demon Tweeks' racing door mirrors for standard Delete valance for over-riders front & rear and number plate box Delete hessian carpets for standard Delete alloy plating for standard leather trim Delete red chassis for standard galvanised - black underseal doesn't care what colour it is However - why not offer a bulkhead option in either body colour or contrasting colour - I could go for that. I don't mind the handbrake in a conventional position, so no preference either way. If it was an option I would probably go with a fly off. Revised soft top sounds good idea. Engine and rear end are OK, although I'm unfussed about whether it's Cosworth or not to be honest. So there we are. If all cars are delivered by November, there's hope that something may be offered on normal Plus 4's next year. Agree with most of your deleted options list Dave. I also agree that Morgan is perhaps looking to include some of the changes to standard cars. If the suspension, brake and engine changes are well received they could be the first to become available. Thinking back to the 4/4 1600 this was available with the standard engine or'competition' with the 1600GT. No one wanted the standard and eventually all were 1600GT engines and the 'competition' name was dropped. It seems sensible to offer a performance option between 2 litre and 3.7 or 4.8.

I bet that AR P4 bits will make into standard +4s by mid 2016. And I bet they won't - with the exception of the five-link rear axle. Why? Because the (standard) Plus Four is for people who don't want a hugely challenging drive. Enough torque to be more than capable, but not so much power as to require huge circumspection. If you want more involvement you buy a 4/4 and if you want a surfeit of power over chassis limits you buy a 3.7 Roadster. All three trad types are great in their individual way. But your 'typical' Plus Four purchaser is not looking for 225 of Cosworth's finest horses... even though many on TM may be

"which should make an appreciable difference to center of gravity?"
How, out of interest? engine is mounted lower due to dry sump, moving center of gravity lower down .. possibly! But then the oil tank is moved higher causing the centre of gravity to move up again the engine is much heavier than the oil tank Its not the sump which drives engine height on the trads - its the bell-housing and toe-board crossmember height/position. You'd only get a lower engine with a smaller/re-positioned gearbox and a smaller clutch/fly combo.

I think the vast majority are quite happy with their Plus 4. I like the fact that Morgan keep doing what small bespoke manufacturers do best, and making new or slightly different. It shows they have enthusiasm and the will to survive.
