I am sure the sartorial elegance of driving a Morgan 3W'er will be so Gentlemanly that it will eclipse all partakers

Just remember to bring your pipe !

From their site :
Quote:
The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride was founded in 2012 in Sydney Australia, inspired by a photo of Mad Men’s Don Draper astride a classic bike and wearing his finest suit. It was decided a themed ride would be a great way to combat the often-negative stereotype of men on motorcycles, whilst connecting niche motorcycle communities together ...with gentlefolk riding their cafe’ racer, scrambler, tracker, bobber, classic vintage, classic scooter, classic chopper, sidecar, brat style, modern classic and undefinable motorcycles.

From FB, in response to a PC survivor with a 'bagger' :
Quote:
John it's great news that you'd recovered well.
Unfortunately as you have stated above this is not an event for all as the event was founded on a niche style of bike.
Many people unfamiliar with the logistics involved in running such a large scale motoring event are frustrated, we understand and accept that.
Our hosts are volunteers, people that are dealing with up to 600 riders throughout city streets, ensuring that the general public and it's riders are safe. If this was an open event and the numbers on each ride grew three or four fold it will undoubtedly be shut down on a global scale by authorities, especially if somebody were to be seriously injured.
We are thinking longterm here by maintaining the niche look and feel that we as organisers choose it to be. We will be able to keep the event running for many more years due to this philosophy. The longer the event sustains itself, the more funds we will raise for prostate cancer research.
If you'd like to take part borrow or hire a suitable bike for the day, or perhaps sponsor a rider.
All of the imagery surrounding this event including the style guides upon the website have always been the same, it has always focused on cafe' racers, classics, bobbers and undefinable bikes.

Perhaps our brothers down under can step in drive

thumbs cheers

My Morgan was featured on the DGR 2014 London photos on Facebook - They said it's exactly the unusual type of vehicle for the event.

We did face some critics on Facebook posts but whatever! In their rules it's open to 3 wheelers. - I'll try to find the photo link

Here is the poster from The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride 2014.
As shown 'Undefinable 2/3 Wheeled Machines' are listed. This year, they tightened it up a bit as posted above 'whilst connecting niche motorcycle communities together ...with gentlefolk riding their cafe’ racer, scrambler, tracker, bobber, classic vintage, classic scooter, classic chopper, sidecar, brat style, modern classic and undefinable motorcycles.'
They took out the '2/3 Wheeled Machines' part ... hence some confusion.

NOW, THE BEST PART, WE'RE IN ! drive
A copy of my email query :
Quote:
Dear Sirs:
I fear on your site that I find no inclusion of the most British of vehicles, the most quintessential, the most gentlemanly, ie: the Morgan Three Wheeler. This is perhaps an oversight ? Very limited production ? This venture has been widely discussed on the Talk Morgan forum, as M3W's are indeed trikes. I would very much like to attend in Chicago, IL, USA; indeed I may induce a few friends with M3W's as well. May I have your handshake on this ? Very truly yours and all that ... Cheers ! Or as I am like to say ...
Tally Ho !
Conrad E. Alexander

A copy of the response from Mikey Stojcevski :
Quote:
Hey Conrad,
Morgan 3 wheelers are most welcome to join DGR and do fall under our Style Guide. Looking forward to seeing some photos.
Tally Ho,
Mikey

So, of course, I sent a photo ! Tally Ho ! We're in ! thumbs cheers

That's the one smile
I remember we got half way around & then got caught in traffic - That was the time I first experienced skip-fire mode - I've got the urban cooling mod now though.
