Took my M3W from my house in Tourtour, in the Provençal Var mountains to the nearby village of Aups, to buy some Paella at the market for my dinner. I also wanted to try out my new Luis Avedo motoring hat, which when you turn it back to front, has built in aviator goggles, so that you too can look like an extra from Those Magnificent Men in their Flying Machines.
I just ordered a pair of high load FAG ball races for the rear wheel, so of course, the clanking noise has stopped today. Just part of the fun of owning a Morgan.
A nice, dry run out for the DonMog visit to the Norton factory at Castle Donnington. Interesting place with small scale production (~550 bike per year) and very dedicated staff. I spent some time drooling over the neatness of the rear hub assembly with its elegant adjustment mechanism! I never realised that Morgan ownership would lead to this....
Short run out today to the Great Central Railway (Nottingham) at Ruddington. The Stewart Classic Vehicle Register was having their summer gathering there, so an ecclectic mix of cars to view as well as the steam trains and the train restoration workshops. Well worth a visit.
