Lawrie I think one thing needs saying here - please don't ever expect to begin to understand them because this will not be happening.
I think after 45 years of work in progress with mine that this is part of the magic attraction really. She is extremely bright but every now and then one pops up out of nowhere that is so far off the wall as to be unbelievable, but I have learnt that you just have to let it go and agree to whatever it is as it will pass as quickly as it came and things return to the slow rumble.
They are worth every part of the journey when the right one turns up you'll know all right your life goes into freefall for quite a while and you never quite gain control of your life again and nor would you want to.

With women I think that like Morgans you need to keep looking and test driving and then the right one will pick you when you least expect it.  The difficulty is that when you have one, after a while, the temptation is to test drive another model   Note to self: I must not test drive the new Aero 8. It could finish up costing me quite a pretty penny.

An older woman when you are young and a younger woman when you are old. Yeah! My younger brother cracked this idea before he even had a driving licence. He started going out with pretty 30 somthing year old divorcees who were looking for a bit of fun without big commitments and liked the idea of teaching a novice. One long term such partner used to own a very nice MG B. He was apparently a slow student because he had to keep up his studies for about 10 years before he settled down for a while with the one girl. Personally I don't know what they saw in him

Caroline appeared when I was working in Worcester, met her in a bar...she decided in a millisecond and even though I soon moved to Aberdeen, and then Twickenham she was determined. That was 40 years ago and I still don't really understand. But as with Sue, she has accepted my obsession with cars, we don't always agree but she always gives me time to learn that she was right... We would never have wasted money on the BMW if I'd listened to her....and she agreed to the Morgans in a moment... So, don't try to understand. Be yourself, don't try to change her, they are mysterious creatures. I suppose it is like living with a cat, they are what they are and if they don't like it they go somewhere better...
