I had the 4/4 engine remapped €200 plus €70 for home set-up. There appears to be more mid range and 5th is less overdrive and more go now. However, my Librands sport exhaust (back box) has lost its burble on the down shift and sounds a bit more sowing machine like on first run. I know the ECU will take a little while to 'learn' the new set up (as it did with the K&N filter kit to replace the standard air box. However, character seems to have been clipped a bit and I hope it comes back? G

It does very much depend on the ECU upgrade...they can be very different dependent on what is being asked of the ECU.
I must say my Sigma remap has made a great difference - and no issues.

Immediately ..altho the ECU is also intuitive to how you drive.

In part the popping in the exhaust on the overun, if that is what you mean, is caused by an incorrect mixture after fitting a sports exhaust. This can be eliminated by either radically reducing fuel at zero throttle for engine speeds above normal idle, or cutting off fuel completely. This may also be a fuel saving strategy. Depending on the capabilities of ECU other stategies may be used to ensure complete burn of the mixture before it enters the exhaust tract. The downside of reducing fuel on the overrun may be a fractional hesitation when re-applying throttle so it has to be carefully balanced. If you are otherwise happy with the performance I would not see it as a problem. If it is just the sound you lack you could buy one of these: http://www.soundracer.se/

The popping on overrun ( I have a sports silencer)since my remap has virtually gone ...proving I guess that the two are now working much better than before the remap.
No hestiation on throttle response - in fact quite the opposite.
