We managed to catch the Avro Vulcan Bomber in the skies over Kent this afternoon at the Headcorn Combined Ops Military Vehicles and Airshow. Awesome sight, and deafening noise! I last saw it back in the 80's at the West Malling Air Show. This is the last season anyone will see it fly, and it was a privilege to witness it. yes they are if you are Alan  You set the videos to private you need to share them. It was parked up at work for a while - how come such old beasties look so futuristic still?

Always loved the way the Olympus's sounded in the Vulcan, used to get treated to them in basic at Swinderby with Waddington just being across the way.

The Smithsonian museum of space and air in Washington has a collection of aircraft and "things" collected by the US after the end of the second world war and very little of it would look out of place today.

Thanks for that Alan , my primary school was located about a mile from the end of the runway at Woodford and directly in line with it . We used to watch the vulcans takeoff often in pairs and pass ovehead still at a very low level with black smoke from all eight engines on full power as they climbed out , the whole village would shake yet no one ever complained .
Those were great memories , so sad that its not to be flown again .
