Don't laugh but I have also paid 558 pounds to experience with a privileged few a static engine power up !!!!! Good on you! I dread to think what the mpg on aviation fuel must be for a Vulcan so what you've paid is probably good value for money! The mpg on a static engine power up will be zero surely?  ~iw

Driving from Buckingham to Milton Keynes yesterday the Vulcan flew over in front of us, travelling roughly south and at about 500". Very quiet, I couldn't hear the engines over Tarka at 40mph.
A truely majectic sight, I'm very pleased that I have seen her before she is grounded.

I've just watched its display at Dawlish, just across the estuary from where I live. On departing, it flew overhead my house. Magnificent sight. The Tornados have displayed and now just awaiting the Red Arrows. This is not getting my gardening finished,  ps Just reading that there has been a tragic accident at the Shoreham Airshow; I believe involving a Hawker Hunter.
