Just changed the discs and pads on my 2010+4,took it for a test drive and found that when putting anymore than a mild pressure on the brakes ,there is a judder through the steering wheel but it does pull up in a straight line, any suggestions of what could be the cause?

I am on my 4th set of discs (4/4 Sport 2009 - 65000kms) and 2nd set of pads because of rapidly appearing brake judder.
The first and second time the discs have been changed under warranty, not so the third and recently the fourth time.
Now I'm already (again) feeling a little brake judder at high speeds!
I heard rumours about low quality discs delivered to the factory and still being used on the cars and in the spares department.
My driving style is quite normal, not very sporty ( I did 85000 kms on my previous 4/4 - 1991 on one set of discs and pads).

Any hotspots on the discs?

Could be warped discs.

Get the runout checked

Do you have Brake Reaction bars fitted to the front suspension.
If not consider fitting them, they are very inexpensive, before spending anymore money.
The brake reaction bars really tighten up the front end during braking.

My discs were skimmed at the same time that I had the brake reaction bars fitted. The judder was quite mild and has not returned. I wonder if fitting the brake reaction bars stabilises the front end an eliminates some strange distortion of the system which leads to uneven heating which causes warping?

When you fit new discs they need not be warped to caused judder but they can be fitted not perfectly square on hence as a minimum get the runout checked.

Can you lift the car up and spin the front wheels? You'll soon hear and feel if it's the discs.... I had warped discs on my Roadster which had to be replaced.

Brake judder can arise through lack of use as the discs get "gummed up". While this should not be the case with new discs and pads, it can often be cleared by some enthusiastic use of the brakes (an Italian tune up). Morgans seem to be particularly prone to brake judder. Are the wheel bearings a little loose?

Agree that brake reaction bars are a worthwhile addition to any Morgan but can't see how they can cure existing brake judder. I would have a look at discs from Mulfab, for example, rather than replacing with stock Morgan parts should they need to be replaced again. As has been suggested get the runout checked and return them to the supplier if they aren't spot on.
