Just been out in the Morgan and got hit by a stone from nowhere that has put a bullseye the size of a pound coin in the screen right in front of the drivers position.
Our roads are just shocking at the moment.
I don't think it will repair as some off the cracks emanating from the centre are between the glass layers.
I am with Headley insurance who will not be about until Tuesday now. I am hoping I can get them to agree a new screen from a local dealer such as M Rutter?
It's also the heated screen so whoever repairs it will need to know what they are doing.
Anyone else with Headley and needed a new screen? If so who did they use to do the repair?

Headley were quite happy for me to use Williams a couple of years ago when I had to replace my 4/4 screen.

Sorry to hear that . I had a stone chip in Jan on the way back from Bicester but luckily it could be filled in.

MMC will only supply the screen and surround as a unit to their dealers nowadays.
I insure through Gott & Wynne , and they paid up almost instantly for the new unit, no bother.
Allon White did the job , but I was not desperately impressed with their mechanics, next time I would use Techniques.

OK techniques are not that far from me - I will ring Headley on Tuesday and see if it can be arranged with them.
I am also toying with getting a screen repairer to look at it but I have never had any real success with that route especially a chip as bad as this one.

My chip was tiny. Yours sounds bad to me. Your insured get a new screen

I`ve had 2 screens replaced - at Morgan as they were my nearest - I paid by card - sent the reciept to Headly having phoned them and the cheque was on the mat 3 days later. Heated screens - about £850 3 years ago.

Took 3 weeks to sort with my plain screen (autoglass)
They don't have a specials dept anymore
also mine was a different (no standard ) surround!
