I was sitting talking to to my late mate Freds wife Rita last night his grandfather on the maiden side was Swedish . But his Father,s family come from Leake where this church is just north of Thirsk on the A19 . Fred was like me he had no time for arse lickers and thats what this church was full of. What a strange coincidence I did what he would have done in what was once his forefathers church.
Is this it JTL? Whenever I go past it I make a mental note to have a closer look at it but never get round to it.

That looks like it but I only see it from the road and as they bring the A1(M) up to 3 lanes I hardly use the A19 to head South . Its the most boring ride in Britian. Its about 4 mile North of Thirsk on the east side .

Its about 4 mile North of Thirsk on the east side . I remember the A19 as being quite exciting. I was staying in Crathorne to view a car that a dealer was bringing down from Newcastle. He turned up & I immediately shook my head - he had failed to tell me that 'my perfect car' had a scarlet leather interior. So I bought him breakfast for his trouble, after which he said "well since we're both here with the car, why don't I teach you how to handle 450bhp properly" and gave me the keys. I have never forgotten what he showed me about how aggressive you could be with the throttle by matching it to steering angle. We left lots of black lines on that road...

Stuart its against Mog law to leave us in suspense what was the car and tell us about it. John - it was a 911 (993 generation) Turbo S in around '97 or '98. I ended up buying a standard Turbo and never felt short-changed with 'only' 408bhp. Yet another car I wish I'd hung on to, but I spun it on some ice and after having the front end rebuilt it never felt quite right afterwards so I sold it in 2004 when dealers started chasing these
