well its an interesting question.. after having a few different 'classics' I have kind of settled on my Morgan as its a good compromise between classic motoring and reliability, ease of use etc.. so what would I replace it with? There are a lot of cars I would love to own but both funds and space are a real constraint, so I guess that when the day comes that I cant get in and out of it, i'll probably just give up driving as an enjoyment and just do the a to b stuff in any old tin box. I think its more likely that i'll quit motorcycling soonest though as that just seem fraught with danger on our roads.

If problems of me getting in or out, eventually force a change of the Morgan, then I would look for a nice MG YA or YB.
Not an open-top, but they tend to have lovely metal sunroofs.
I also love the rear hinged front doors.

A great question and some great suggestions already on this thread. Hopefully, by the time I get there - some fairly recent open-tops will have acquired classic status. I could see the 80 year old me in a BMW Z4. I like the proportion of them and suspect the looks will age very well

A friend of mine bought a YB quite a few years ago when his kids were small. Unusually it was metallic gold - a standard but rare colour if I recall. It had the steel sunroof, the rear window blind, the wool headlining, and the Jackall system built in. What a fantastic system that was, but a lot of weight.
It had bags of character but only a modest performance.
