I have long thought that one likes a car despite its faults or hates it despite its virtues. The more I drive the 4/4, the more I like it - and it is not as if it is without faults.
Wait till you get between 3-7000 miles on the clock and the engine has loosened up. It's a hoot! Better on super unleaded too IMO.

I have been on the 98 from the start. Already the acceleration in second gear is far better than I expected.

This is still true for me after four and a half years.

My main concern as far as tyres are concerned is that, even though my driving is mostly on dry roads, it will probably take a great deal of effort to wear out the Contis That's the point. I understand your worries. No one would throw away some useful items. Now my Contis have 20.000km, they still look good with plenty of tread. You could think, why change them if you have so much tread. But this "so much tread" is the proof that they don't wear and, therefore, they don't stick at all. Next spring I will go for TTrac2.
