Watching England V Ireland Haven't watched a match for years and not sure what im watching. England team look all pumped on steriods and no difference in size between forward's and backs. Whats happened, money of course. But its so boring.

Just watched Wales vs Italy. Unutterably dull game with maybe 2 or 3 moments of brilliance in 80 minutes. It doesn't bode well for the World Cup. And Wales have probably lost Webb and Halfpenny to injury.

At least we`ve got F1 where money doesn`t come into the equation at all!!!! Perhaps I ought to change my name to cynical old git.

Anyone watched Cricket lately?
Money is, as always, a force for good and bad. But I was somewhat saddened today when I listened to a BBC person say that "Bernie" didn't see Monza in the F1 future.
He may not, but I suspect there are other forces that do. Remember "Bernie" wanted F1 to go to 4 cylinder engines. The "other forces" made it clear that V6 or we exit. So we have incredibly expensive V6 "clever" motors.
It isn't sport, it is business-sport.

Only the cricket and gave up after Morgan's questionable (to my mind/non-sporting) dismissal.

If Bernie had his way, most if not all of the traditional and historic race venues in Europe would be dropped to allow expansion of F1 into other countries. How anyone could consider dropping Monza is beyond comprehension. The sooner he retires the better.

Whilst I love watching England play, for the real experience you need to go and watch championship rugby, which is the league below the baths, sales, Leicesters etc. My family are moseley FC supporters (note not Rfc) as the club was formed before association football existed and rugby football Union was the only code. The lads that play in this league are generally part timers ( there are a couple of full time clubs but not many.) So they have day normal day jobs, however the style and brand of rugby is so much more enjoyable to watch than the premier clubs. We have a couple of pints and a hot pork sandwich or pie and if we win its great, if we lose well there's always next week. The players are not overpaid prima donnas but lads who love the game for what it is, yes some will go on to be superstars (like Jonny may who played for us a few years ago) but most give their all for the love of the game, long may it remain so.
