Richard took some great pictures of me and my Mog at curbrough and spent some time sending them through to me .
Nothing was too much trouble to him .
Great pictures that mean even more to me now he's gone.

That really means a lot John and is a tribute none of his friends will ever forget. I can't really say anything else, as it is just too sad.

(Sorry for posting from the work account, I guess you all know who it is now)

Thank you to everyone who has posted a memory or a message of support, it really means a lot to my family and I. As I have said so many times over the past couple of days Morgan represented more than just a series of sheds in Malvern or a car that Dad could take out on a Sunday afternoon, it represented a family. A family that extended beyond just those of us working at MMC but throughout the challenge series, Talk Morgan and the many many people he met at events over the years. There are so many relationships within that family that I know he cherished dearly, he would always talk about people he'd met or seen and never had a bad word to say about anyone. Morgan truly is a family and if it wasn't for Dad I would never have had the opportunity to be a part of that family, already having so many incredible memories and stories from my time there.

As for Talk Morgan he did not post that regularly but he was always reading, I would all too often catch a sneak peak at his iPad and every single time there would be one of the many TM threads up. He will leave an irreplaceable hole in my life and I dare say the lives of many others. We don't yet know any details for the funeral but anyone who would like to attend is more than welcome to, his life was cut short and as a result many people never got the chance to say goodbye. It would also be lovely for anyone who can to arrive in their Morgan to do so, he spent his life surrounded by them and his happiest memories were spent at the literally hundreds if not thousands of events he will have attended over the years.

Once again thank you, he would have been truly honoured to read all of the posts people have written and my family can find comfort in them too.

I will inform John Stride and ask him to pass on details of the funeral as soon as we know.

my heartfelt condolences...I know how you feel: there is a big, gaping void..

I lost my Dad in 2000 in much the same way. He got up one morning, collapsed and although the paramedics got him to hospital just about alive he died in theater. It was 6 weeks after my Mum died. Not a good year.

Earlier this year Richard very kindly sent me a file of photos he'd taken of Tarka, the Bronze Plus 8: they were special anyway and now serve as a lasting memory of a great photographer of Morgans and a really nice guy.

May he rest in a peace.

I was lucky enough to meet your Dad at Chateau Impney and have always enjoyed his contributions to MOG.
It is clear from the posts on TM what a much loved and valued member of the Morgan community he was. I do hope you and your family can draw some comfort from that at this difficult time.
My sincerest condolences.

James, my wife Julie (Mintymog) and I met your Dad at many of the Morgan events. He would always go out of his way to say "hello".
We knew him as a lovely happy gentle man.
He seemed to enjoy himself taking photos around the various events and especially going up in the cherry pickers with his safety harness on, to get photos of the event below or of the aerobatics at his eye level.
The last time we saw him, and how we will remember him, he was like a teenager, running and jumping in and out of the trees at the recent Chateau Impney Hill Climb event trying to get the best shots.
Such a loss. Take strength from the fact that he was well loved by many of the wider family.

James, so sorry to hear of your Father's passing. As others have said on here, his gift was to make strangers feel like friends.

From what I know from the few times you and I have met, that rare ability your Father had lives on in you and is the best testimony to the type of man he was.

My sincere condolences to Richard's family.
This was a great shock to both my wife and myself as we have known Richard for many years.
A genuine nice guy, always helpful and a smile for everyone.
It must have been back in the 1990's that I first met Richard when he obtained a job in the purchasing office at the college where I was lecturing. As he told my colleagues and myself, his task was to 'drive down costs', and that he did. I fondly remember the era of 'lowest cost supplies' and the pens that didn't write, the Pritstick that didn't, the non-sticky sellotape! When challenged Richard would say 'but look at the saving', always with a smile on his face. He wasn't affectionately called 'Tricky Dicky' for nothing.
But always helpful. When he knew I was keen on a Morgan, six years ago, before I retired, what did he do? No more than turn up at the College in the Police Force Morgan. Remember that car? My first ever ride in a Morgan was with Richard, in that car. So I suppose he was a major influence in 'Pogmog' (PG 05 MOG), my wife and I appearing at Shelsley, Prescott and Morgan events.
A sad loss, his joie de vivre will be missed
