Going to work the other morning in my 2012 3 wheeler with 6K miles suddenly lost power, felt like it was running on 1 cylinder, managed to crawl to a safe spot, hasn't started since!

Changed the plugs, both giving a good spark
Fires when turning over and both down pipes get warm just doesn't catch
Fuel pressure at the injector is just under 60psi
Doesn't sound mechanically any different

Wonder if anyone has any ideas?

BTW is there a OBD port? - UK car

Thanks
Marc

Test port is under a small cover on the ECU, you will have to download "Protune" free from the S & S website to access any fault codes + see live data.

You hadn't just filled up with petrol had you? If you brim it, it causes an air lock, and the symptons you have suggested. It may be worth opening the fuel cap anyway. Just remove the centre plug, and close the outer cap, and see if it will start and run.

I had your symptons after the car had been standing in the sun for a few hours, even though I hadn't filled up, removing the inner fuel cap got it running again, and it was fine after that.

BTW, the cam belt is easy to check, just take out the bolts from the front cover with a hex key and you will see if there is a problem right away.

Best of luck, I hope it isn't anything serious. Let us know what you find for the collective knowledge bank.

Sounds similar to when I had a broken valve spring .

If there is just under 60 psi at the injectors as Marc said, then the fuel pump is putting out the required pressure. My S&S book calls for 58 psi.

Well guessed HJP - no compression on O/S cylinder, exhaust spring broken! - bit poor after 6,000 miles, it's not like it's a cheap engine.

Sorry to hear that (even if it means I'm right !) at least it's pretty straightforward to fix .
