Been away from the forum for a few days and missed this. Many thanks to J (Jays) for breaking the news to me this morning when we met up. Such a shock! Sincerest condolences to James and family. Words fail me, but so many posts above hopefully cover some of my feelings...

The Talk Morgan photo competition seemed to fade away some years ago perhaps in rememberance of Richard it should be re started and named the Richard Gilbert photo competition .
James, so sorry to hear of your Father's passing. As others have said on here, his gift was to make strangers feel like friends.
From what I know from the few times you and I have met, that rare ability your Father had lives on in you and is the best testimony to the type of man he was.
So many great stories and lovely tributes but for me this post says it all.
Well.....it's my 10,000 post and as I've reached this milestone I'm going to dedicate this post to my dear friend Richard aka Redmorgan. R.I.P my friend.
What a lovely touch. I didn't know the man but he sounds to be a true gent.

Richard was a lovely man - a true gentleman - his passing is a loss to the entire Morgan community. As James has said above, he read TM a lot and posted less; however, when he did, it was usually with one of his beautiful photos. Those photos and his warm smile is how I will remember him.
