Somehow Porsches awake enthusiasm no matter where in the world. Even in Kong Kong they show some highlights of the old valuable stuff beside the new breed.

Some lovely cars there, I could have found garage space for one or two. Nice to see some of the old stuff next to the modern cars. The dark blue 356 was superb.

Watch 11:35 - 11:50 of that video and you can really appreciate both machine and driver.

Another tangent but as this thread already has many, what is one more! thumbs

I know many of you like vintage watches, hence this story.

Over the past few years, I've enjoyed learning a little more about vintage Heuer, in particular the Autavia. My goal was to find a good 1163T with blue markings. This particular model has been associated with Swiss F1 racing driver Jo Siffert . The so called 'Siffert' Autavia is one of the most collectable and because large numbers weren't produced, and they went through a stage where people didn't value them, finding an honest one in good condition can be challenging.

I knew a chap with such a watch and recently he decided to part with it. He is also a car enthusiast and after we'd done the sale - and knowing my love of Porsche - he sent me this photo. It turns out that not only did Mr. Siffert wear an Autavia chrono (seen in the photo below) but he also owned a Porsche dealership and drove a 911.

So another tangent but I'm sure you watch/car lovers will forgive me wink

Thank for sharing Simon. This Heuer is a very period piece of watch manufacturing. Not only a time measure instrument but at the same time a time-machine, delivering all the emotions of her decade. A very true watch. And wonderfully combined with the corresponding "car and driver" on the pic.

Have never owned a Porker but have driven one or two , not sure wether I will ever get one as there are so many exciting cars out there that I would rather have eg Morgan , Aston , Tvr , Caterham , Ginetta , Corvette ....

I've had a few Porsches, they're very very good but………….
Possibly a bit boring compared to a Morgan.
