[quote=ajsms999] Another option is to ditch the standard regulator and mount an original Harley Davidson type direct to the existing mounting plate without the rubber bobbins. It seems that the Harley unit is robust enough to survive in this location. There are several threads on this subject already so a bit of advanced searching may be in order. I did exactly this without bobbins for my H-D rectifier almost 20,000 miles ago. It works. Welcome to the Slice of Madness we call the Morgan 3 Wheeler!
What's your mileage? Who cares. Is it practical? See #1. What happens when it rains? You get wet.

aj, to add to what Dab and Paul said, It you look (take off the cover above pedals) you will see about 1 1/2 inches more space to the front. It takes a bit of engineering but I was able to move the pedal box forward without any stress on the hoses. Yes it does require drilling more holes in the floor pan but I made an alloy (3/16 thick) plate to support the two front bolts. It is all working fine after 3000 miles. As far as the suspension goes, any problems can be solved with the Empire kit, which corrects the bump steer, toe in/out and caster problems. I was so disappointed with the car before the Empire kit I almost sold it. Talk to Paul about this. Finally, I installed a Momo steering wheel, smaller with a flat bottom. Good Luck!

Hello again, Thanks everyone for your instant responses - quite a lot for me to think about there. Your ideas, tips and suggestions are all very welcome - its really good to be able to ask for advice from such an enthusiastic and committed group of owners. I am very much aware that in buying such an early car, I have taken a great gamble - there are plenty of stories of all the disasters/"development" that has gone between 2011/12 & 2015MY. In my limited experience (TVR for the last 16 years - I've had every one except the Sagaris!), as a low volume manufacturer, Morgan are not alone in the idea of further developing/improving the car based on customer experience - it happened on every other vehicle, certainly with TVR & to a lesser extent with Lotus. However this has been reflected in the price paid, to some extent I think this adds to the charm and uniquely "British" nature of the vehicle. One thing I am certain of is that MMC should be congratulated in having the "balls" to produce such an involving, enjoyable, entirely driver focussed vehicle in the first place. I intend to enjoy working my way through the list of improvements, and will steal every opportunity I can to get outside and actually drive it. Thanks everyone for your kind welcome and support Andrew

There should be an invoice for the wishbones - labour was charged (about £75). So if no invoice I would guess the work may not have been done. The later wishbones are much heavier.
I've had no problems with my regulator on Oct 2012 car so you may be ok. Make sure the wiring upgrade has been done.
Your pedals will be the much nicer M3W logo'ed pedals like I've got. They can be moved but it will make a mess, so steering spacer and raised seat may be an alternative.
If your front wheel isn't central then you may find a change to the later hub at some point is worthwhile. My car has benefitted from this.
Say lots of prayers and have lots of fun. There will be ups and downs, but focus as much as you can on the ups - and many cars seem to be reasonably reliable!

Welcome from the Colonies, Andrew ! I think the pedals are set on the furthest fixing - which is still tight for me, is it possible to move them a little further back? Also whilst on the pedals, they are very close together - several times I have found myself pushing the brake and accelerator when I want to stop - was the pedal set changed on more recent cars, or again is this adjustable? Fit a slice of 2X4 under the front of the seats to raise them a bit. Also source narrow driving shoes or F1 boots. Half the fun of ownership is all the new kit you get to buy ... Tally Ho !

I think the pedals are set on the furthest fixing - which is still tight for me, is it possible to move them a little further back? A steering wheel spacer will help as it gives more clearance for the top of your thighs so allows you more room to move your foot around. You can (carefully!) try this with the quick release by half releasing the wheel. The pedal spacing is fixed so as others have said - narrow shoes are the answer.

you can mount the existing rectifier without bobbins, just adding some spacers instead. works fine I did the same, using rubber steering bushings and stainless bolts. I was concerned about additional vibration, but haven't had a problem since.

I fitted a 25mm steering wheel spacer so I can now get my foot of the clutch properly. Now I dont remove th wheel when getting in & out & on RHD cars its a bit easier to get the key in so triple benefit.
