Been thinking about this for a while but was prompted by the thread " This B*****D Disease"
After an Annus and a half Horribilis of surgeries, chemo and radio I'm delighted that life is back on an even keel. Don't get me wrong, not me, but to watch the person you love the most in the whole world go through all that.........it was the hardest thing I've ever done. Changed me for ever in so many ways.
The future, however, is now rosie and I feel I can once again participate more fully here on my favourite website.

Good health guys.
Neil.

Indeed it is hard and a life changing experience. I had eleven years of alternative bouts of despair and joy and lot worse. It really made me think about life and what loving someone really means. It certainly changed me.

Yes. There are a few of us that know just what you are talking about.

Take that holiday, buy that thing you have always wanted, enjoy life. You never know what is just around the corner so live life today.

That's the positive uptake for me.
My outlook has changed. I am not gung ho ...but am aware of advancing years and the need to do things whilst I can and am able to fully enjoy them.
I am very fit and well and plan to stay that way for a long time. But as Peter has said we none of us know what's round that corner for ourselves or our loved ones.
So my over cautious side is giving way to being more free thinking ( within my financial means!). I am striving to avoid the " I wish I had done that " syndrome.

Amen to all the above, heard on Monday of a dear friends wife (she is also a dear friend) who had been given 5-8 months due to Pancreatic cancer has now, 9 months down the road, been one of the very few where surgery was possible and they say they have got it all. On Monday before our meeting her consultant told them to go ahead and book that 2016 holiday and to come back for checks every 3 months but fingers crossed things are looking much, much better. 4 old men sat in a pub almost in tears and not caring a fig who saw it ;-).

Now when someone tells you to smell the roses you really understand what it means. Happy to hear the highlights, adapting to the niggles takes a bit of time but it happens. May your god smile on you both.

Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.
