I have looked at hundreds of pictures of early '50s +fours and cannot pin down exactly what the tail/stop light configuration should be. It seems that they are all different. My car was missing all lights, wiring and brightwork, (bumpers, knobs, headlight pods etc.). Also would like to find a dual spare tire holder bracket.
I am hungry for information.
Can anybody out there help me or steer me in the right direction to find needed parts?

Thank you,
Ted

Here are a couple of photos of a friends 1956 plus 4. The indicators position was his personal choice, I have also seen them positioned just above the side/brake lights.

I am not sure , but I suspect the early +4s , including a 1956 car would not have had indicators. My 1951 car certainly did not. Most owners would have fitted them later. Most folk used the single "domed" orange lens unit that is shown on the car above.

I don't think I have any pictures (and certainly no digital ones) of my 1951 car , but in essence they used a single stop/tail light on each wing . It was the same as the Morris Minor (and several other cars ?) of the same vintage (but I realise they will also be rare in USA) so I think they are quite widely available in UK.

I think Melvyn Rutter carries both of them in stock (at a price!)

I have to give away to a good home 3 pair of early Morgan indicator lenses. They are in original packaging and made by Butlers of Birmingham. Two of them are more yellow than orange.

They were passed on to me by Uncle Bob (known in the family as "Uncle Bob's yer Uncle") who used to be in the trade. So keeping one pair for myself as spares and will post the others to anyone who needs them. I imagine restorers are the most likely to be missing these.

I would have a look at Car Builder Solutions on the web. They carry all sorts of lights at reasonable prices.

Here are a couple of pictures of P2444 as it sat for many years. I am in the process of restoring it. Looks like it had no directionall lights. Just one small one on each side.

My 1956 +4 had the Morris 1000 stop and brake lights with separate indicaters. They seem to have been original.

.+8 Now gone for a 1800 4/4. Duratec in bright yellow.
