3-zip tonneau covers are definitely the business if you prefer (as I do) to run without sidescreens as much as possible. When it's very cold and/or wet you can clip the side section in place, thereby cutting out loads of drafts and spray.

Haha - someone beat me to it last time but I'm the first in on this thread!

I use my tonneau all the time too, as a tonneau is the open part of a convertible car where the seats live I don't understand how anyone couldn't!!

I also have a cover for it but I rarely use that.

Well, thanks everyone. Looks like a tonneau will be on the list then. Can't totally visualise the 3-zip option but sounds like a pretty useful upgrade once I'm up and running. Roll on December!

Our local key & dry cleaners replaces zips. They did something similar for us for low money. Worth a try.

I use a tonneau cover nearly all the time when I don't have rear passengers as mine's a 4 seater so there is more tonneau to cover

If I had a two seater, I would definitely go for a three zip cover, probably in PVC as it's harder wearing as it would get a lot of use and regularly cleaned with Armour All semi Matt, it keeps it looking great

Mohair does looks nicer though

The three zip just helps to keep a bit more rain out and a bit more of the warmth in

It depends how much you want to use the hood and sidescreens

I try not not to use the hood or any screens at all unless it's really wet and I've got passengers

In 3 years I have only ever used the hood once and that was under duress . I use the touuneau a lot, particularly today as it helps to keep you war, when solo. I have a traditional hood so when the tounneau is on you get very sleek lines unlike with the easy up hood.. My sidescreens only go on when is in the car generally but sidescreens up and half tounneau and it's very snug. As others have said a 3 zip would be good to specify given the choice.

I use my tonneau all the time. I prefer it to the hood...old type.
Hood gets used if it looks like heavy rain and I take the tonneau off and fold the hood over carefully to protect the "windows", forming a sort of half tonneau.
Mike, I like your version of split front/rear but would want that split to two pieces to allow passenger side to be covered when solo in the car. My present one allows this.
Maybe an idea if my present tonneau gives up.

The tonneau is the singularly most useful of any extras on a conventional 9 stud or 10 as mine is windscreen - but know nothing of the easyup's arrangements.

All three Morgans I have had custody of have had conventional stud roofs by choice. You don't get that bulge at the rear over your shoulder that I dislike. The trade of is it doesn't take you 3 minutes to get the roof up, I don't mind that as I discovered at an early age that I was waterproof

p.s. I have an everflex and a mohair one - the everflex is for everyday use and the mohair is for dressing up days , it also has a zip cover sewn in which is vital otherwise water comes through the zip.

We now use the tonneau cover with 3 zips all the time instead of the hood cover.

The 3 zip cover gives better clearance for the seat belts. When the side screens are on the section that normally clips outside the doors is left inside the doors when they are closed. Obviously it is no more secure than a zip but we have never had the car interfered with.

Ideally I would prefer a combined hood cover and tonneau cover. That is to say something with an inner cover for the window in the hood that can be scratched by objects in the luggage area when the hood is down.

When you close the car with the cover you can either remove the headrests (keep a good grip on them. A flying headrest can do a lot of damage), or you can fold the seats right forward. In that case the headrests do make a little bump in the cover but that does not cause a problem.

My tonneau is everflex. Easy to keep clean
I had it modified to fit round the rollbar.
I remove the headrests to put it over the cockpit, I find waxng the headrest stems with car wax makes them slicker and easier to remove/fit.
I thought about pickets in the tonneau cover but didn't go for them due to the rollbar getting in the way.
