I have always used the tonneau, indeed I find it essential as I never fit the side screens ( obviously if it is really heavy rain I do )
A fellow TMer put some very good pictures on the site to show how to fold it without catching the seat belts and I have no problems at all.

Be careful that they do not get to slippy and when removing pop out your hand and land on the rear of the car and damage the paint work. this happened to me once with the +8, luckily no damage done.

Exactly what I meant in my earlier post where I said "keep a good grip on them. A flying headrest can do a lot of damage"

Fortunately when mine made its maiden flight it did not do any damage.

My 4-seater has a Simmonds easy-up hood conversion. The tonneau cover was adapted at the same time as the hood was changed, so that it sits over the folded-up hood fabric. The sacrifice in terms of clean lines over the rear is more than made up for by the convenience of the tonneau cover. I do a lot of solo trips, and in the "shoulder season" of Canadian driving it's good to be able to cover the front passenger seat and keep a little more warmth in.

I also discovered a way to fold/roll up the tonneau cover for when there are rear-seat passengers, so that it sits over the hood, protects small people's heads from the ends of the header rail, and provides a little more cushioning behind the rear bench (there are no rear headrests in the old design of 4-seater). Ideally I'd get a proper hood cover made up for when travelling 4-up, but the convenience of being able to just unroll everything and clip the front in place is a big bonus.

If I'm on my own I'll remove the front passenger headrest so that the three-quarter cover goes on nicely. But parking up when all the seats are occupied I just leave the front seat backs tipped forward after passengers have performed the "egress dance," and the tonneau cover then clears the headrests without removing them.

I've chucked my headrests...so fitting the tonneau cover is much easier. The headrests rattle in their mounts, one pulls the chrome seat trim out each time I remove it and they sit so back they are not effective anyway.

Here is one in action I have borrowed from a Morgan Germany friend, as you can see he and his lovely wife enter into the spirit of things wholeheartedly in his Plus 8.

I find that the wax makes them easier to remove and less chance of them flying out of control. They do not stick and thus require less effort to pull out. I pull them by gripping the rest not the stem. It is similar to using a knife....a sharp knife requires less effort to cut, a blunt knife is more hazardous due to pushing harder to get the cut.

Phill, no need to worry any more all the strikes are long gone. Its immigrants to look out for now.
