The forerunner to the M3W, the Liberty Ace, had a shaft drive via a Honda Goldwing (at least I think it was a Goldwing) shaft and swing arm. If you do a bit of searching for photos of its interior you'll see that the transmission tunnel was set at an angle so that the back part of the shaft could clear the tyre. What this meant was the passenger side of the cockpit was narrower than almost any human being and that it would be almost impossible to economically re-engineer it for right hand drive. Yes, this was certainly a crude design, but it is possible a shaft design could have been engineered more effectively without eliminating passenger space. My assumption would be that the final Morgan design was probably the cheaper option (and possibly lighter) Don't disagree, but if you want a narrow and low body that can be easily built for LHD and RHD then to keep two adequate side by side seats the transmission tunnel pretty much has to be central and narrow then you have to step the drive sideways in a short distance to one side to clear the tyre. The shaft-bevel-belt arrangement is quite a reasonable solution...however, the implementation may be just a tad less than ideal...

I had to pay extra to not have mat paint ,which the super dry has as standard hope it looks good

Scott, I well remember the excitement for myself. Can't believe it's coming up to a year now.
What made you choose to go through Melvyn when other dealers are closer to you ? Did the same thing myself. The downside has been one heck of a drive for the first service etc.

Nice, it still has the 2013 wind screens...the low screens are an option or does it depend on which region the car is going to?
