Bonhams Auctions sold a beautiful AeroMax for €172,500.00 (circa £126,925.00), including premium. Although it is chassis number 100 of 100 built (officially!), and "one of two cars in Cartier burgundy livery", nevertheless this is more than they have been changing hands for in the UK and it could be that the AeroMax is finally being recognised as the collectible classic that it is. Having said that I do not know the relative costs of import duty in France, relative to the UK? Perhaps one of our French members can elucidate?

As long as UK stays in EU there are no tax implication to import a car from UK to France if the car is older than six months AND has more than 6.000 kilometres on the clock.
Then local taxes should be paid for registering, which in the case of the Aeromax would be circa 2.000 Euro
The equivalent of MOT should be presented at a cost of 60 Euro

Well done Aeromax, we're impressed - must be the highest mileage AeroMax?

I think the point of the question is that the car appears to be on swiss plates.

So it sold for 20k above the price of the 2 for sale in Switzerland on Autoscout (OK 1 now - the other has dropped off) - although the base price of 164k is in line with the dealer price.
I can see prices rising steadily for them

Sorry I missed the CH point then
Importing a car from Swiss, if you haven t been a Swiss resident coming back home in EU means VAT on the car value and 10% import taxes.
If you were living in CH and returning home in EU then the 10% wouldn t apply, should you have owned the car in Swiss for a reasonable period
Likely, buying a CH car is a bad idea, unless the price is very cheap which is usually not the case
