I agree with all that's been said about the 4/4. It's a proper sports car that loves to have its nuts revved off and be thrown around corners. If you make full use of all the gears in the wonderful Mazda box you will get all the speed you need or want on non motorway roads. On motorways I have no trouble keeping pace with the traffic but it's not the cars natural environment..

It's amongst the most comfortable car I've driven and using the luggage rack and hills alive fitted luggage I have tremendous capacity for touring. I love the wooden dashboard and the heated seats but rarely use the tonneau cover. I find a remote control for the radio very handy and a jabra to listen to my iPhone through the radio useful. I have overriders which I think emphasise the narrow front end and stainless wires which are just lovely. I've fitted alibrands lockable footrest locker which is great to secure cameras sat nav tickets etc when touring. Leather trimmed side screens and map pockets add a bit of extra class.

So many overwhelming comments about the 4/4 here...I only can agree with most of the posts. After having had 3 Roadster and 1 P4SS from 2005 to 2014 I bought my 4/4 ex demo in November 2014. 13.500 km driven since. The subjectively best Mog I had, and there are no plans for another change.
Only adds are Avo shocks at the rear and brake reaction bars at the front. I would keep the lighter 1.6 Sigma and would not go for a 2.0. The revvy character of the Sigma is part of the fun. To get the best out of her I currently let built a sports manifold for reasonable money. (I will post in about 4 weeks about it. It could be interesting for other LHD owners as my manifold must not take into account the steering column).
Hire a weekend car and make your own experiences. I bought the 4/4 after my cousin hired her for a weekend and he let me drive her. Until this point of time I was too stupid to test drive a "small" Mog.

I'm interested in the positive comments about the 4/4. I assumed the plus 4 was the one to go for. There are a few low mileage 'new' cars at the dealers at present, including several 4/4.

If I see one in cream with a green mohair roof I may get tempted. But the prices don't seem to be lower than ordering new. I've never driven one but intend to when I get back to the uk in a few weeks. Who knows may even order a new one in December / January then I'll be asking about options!

I love my 4/4 sport (2010) - no thoughts at all of "upgrading2.
Great fun, plenty of poke, cheap tax & insurance and 40-50mpg.

Yes , not enough coverage of the 4/4 and its light weight advantages over the heavier Mog models !

Each Morgan is different and it really depends on how you see yourself using it. Currently, mine is used for day drives and the odd weekend away and it is brilliant for that. I'm hoping to do a European tour next year so that will be interesting. Possibly, if I was looking to do more long distance touring a Plus 4 would be the way to go for more mid range tourque. For now, I really can see no need for me to change from the 4/4. It's that good.

Thankyou everyone, very useful comments and have reassured me greatly that a 4/4 is a wonderful car. As much as i will miss the M3W - a wrench of huge proportions - i'm very much looking forward to getting my 4/4.

I feared it might be the poor relation in the range but all your comments have proved otherwise - it might just be the best one! - it is for me anyway. My wife prefers the thinner look of the 4/4 too - more pure -[ but i think they all look great!

Probably the blue you have in mind is a bit darker. I did adjust it a little from the colour that was available in the car creator.

My crystal ball tells me that next year will bring a 4/4 80th Anniversary ..........
