Scott
I saw your car at the factory on Thursday in PDI, it has all the Superdry decals on and looks good but is definitely matt paint.

Keep positive Scott and I'm sure it will all be sorted for you but best to find out now rather than when you are ready to pick it up.

I fully understand why you would specify a gloss finish for durability and matt finish , as nice as it might look, won't prove as durable.

This car is alot of money and it needs to be what you want or you'll not be satisified with it. It would always be a case of "if only" - after-all its not a case of changing a few decals is it.

I'm no paint expert but putting a clear coat over the top might not work. The normal metallic silver is a base coat with clear over top. the matt finish stuff isn't a base-coat as i understand it.

Don't be bullied or inpatient to get into your car. If they need to build another as per your order and you need to wait so be it. perhaps Mr M.R could lend you his loan car by way of re-dress while you wait?

Don't be fobbed off - its your money that i guess you had to work hard for.

Matte finish paint has a matte clear coat on top. It should be as 'durable' as gloss, with the caveat that touching in is impossible as you can't buff to match.

It's certainly able to resist real world motoring, there's not a mark on mine in almost 6000 miles.

I didn't know that - assumed it was very fragile. Still i spend many a happy hour polishing so I'd not want matt finish myself.

Scott, did your dealer make it clear to you exactly what the clear coat was? It may well be a satin finish clear coat. I've never seen a Superdry livery car with a gloss finish.

Right lads the car did have extra tops coat as I wanted but not gloss has I and my dealership expected it to be, but a satin finish
So I got some money back ,the new cost for extra coat was 150 plus vat

Gloss clear cannot go on top of matt paint
