If you had to go down the route of having a new Superform wing you should be entitled to having the other one done too. I'm no expert on the mix of aluminium to steel but sure somebody will know.

Only the newer cars....there's a Roadster being rebuilt in the chassis shop as we speak. It had a severe side impact. The factory does make new wood frames for older cars, restoration or repair and I've seen a fully panelled older body being built in the past.

That's certainly Plan B....I don't think it would have any deleterious effect, though how the insurance company might view it is unclear to me.
I'm just amazed that the factory appear to have stopped making steel wings - it doesn't augur well for the (presumably not insubstantial) number of cars that might need steel wings in the future.

Had I kept my first (1976) Morgan for a few more years the wings would have needed replacing. I would have gone either Ally or GRP...

Dave you're entitled to be put back in the position you were in before the accident. Even for a Morgan it wasn't having lopsided wings!

The steel wings on my 1986 4/4 are in a bad way, it's not so much rust that's an issue but the cracking filler (the old steel wings were all made by hand and needed a _lot_ of filler to give a smooth finish).
I've got it semi-booked in with Steve Barnes to have a full set of alloy wings fitted, but I've got to see whether I will have any money left over from my garage build before I can commit the car to his tender mercies.
TBH I can't see why one would want to put steel wings on, especially not when the alloy ones are so well made these days, but chacun à son goût and all that...

My previous Morgan had GRP wings. They were very light and extremely strong. Once I was hit by a small Peugeot. It was totalled. The Morgan had a small rift in the front wing, a broken bumper bent all thr way into the front tire. It got a brand new front bumper, a new tire and a repaired and repainted GRP front wing all paid by the other owner's insurance. I threw in a little extra money to have the other front wing and the cowl repainted, and the whole front was looking as new again.

Possibly if you wanted to retain originality. I have steel wings on my 69 which seem to be in quite good condition however until chemically stripped I wont really know. They are stronger than Ali wings and less prone to damage from stones.

This is bad news. I'm fairly certain I'm going to need to replace the drivers side wing on my '70 4/4.
