Rugby World Cup 2015: Scotland 45-10 Japan.

As a Scot living in Germany, it's not often that I can hold my head up high when sport (esp football) is discussed in the office. Luckily, I don't follow the game. Rugby though is different and a proper sport so tomorrow I will be dining out on this result, and by chance maybe emailing my colleagues in SA and US.

Hope it lasts, time will tell.

I read the headline (BBC I think)...If Japan are Minnows, Namibia are Plankton.

I have Namibia in the sweep-stake at work. Oh well.

Cracking game though wasn't it. Loving the Samsung adverts with Jack Whitehall, very funny and they certainly have Martin Johnson exactly as he is in real life. My son roomed with him on tour and for away games and he says that's exactly what he is like 'you do nothing that he has not told you to do'

Well thats it. All the home nations are out.
Proud of the way the Scots played. Some real guts and determination. Shame about the result for Scotland and some of the decision making, but thats the game. Congratulations to AUS

Lets hope next weeks games are just as entertaining.

Scotland were robbed.
Ref failed them badly, as the TMO has been widely used in this tournament.
There were 2 incidents that needed review.
Hogg being hit late when clearing his line not long before.
The sequence of offences in the last Lineout
Knock on by Scotland into Oz player before Scottish forward caught the ball.
It is amazing that the ref didn't query it before finalising the penalty, and why didn't the TMO advise the ref they wanted to investigate?
I hope the ref and TMO own up to the mistakes for their credibility.

Agree with all that - the very late hit on Hogg was just sooo obvious...why did the touch judge not spot that??!!My son and I went "ouch..penalty - or a sin bin.."

Too late now ..but the Scots was robbed!!

It was a good game.

Careful with what you wish for! RoboRef would pick up every infraction and you'd end up with very few players on the pitch wink

That said - Joubert made a few real strange ones!! However even though I do believe the Scots were robbed, I have every sympathy for the ref.- the laws are so complicated that it is nigh impossible to see and interpret everything in real time.

I always say to teams( I umpire hockey) that they will probably make more mistakes as players than I will as ref so accept the (very) few I do make!!!!

I'm still gutted for the Scots

Cheers!
