I called the factory recently and asked them how many Plus 8 cars they had built since 1968. Of course, with nothing on computer, they didn't know. So my best guess is that they built approx 3 a week on average... 50 working weeks a year.. that is 150 a year... for 36 years.. is 5400.
Anyone have better theory or facts?
If we say 4 a week its 7200 cars but I don't think it was more than that.

plus 8 to May 31st 1988 = 2,981
also
plus 8 sports lightweight same date 19

3313 built 1988 to 2004 when production ended according to the Morganville registry (which may be correct)

so about 6250 less the 1988 overlap, 1988 was a poor year for plus 8 so 5 months of 12 would be about 65 cars,

Total (very close to it) would be 6,185
6,160 is the Morganville total so that looks close as well and may be regarded as definitive

Hi Chris444
Thanks for the numbers! Sounds like 6200 is a decent approx number to work with.

I can give you the numbers to 31st May 1988 - away with work but can do this at the weekend, could extrapolate I suppose but Morgan production seems to be a bit erratic, wonder myself if during recessions they sell 4/4's whilst in better economic times they sell more +8/Roadster V6 etc.
