As reported seems to be just a variation in software to get the cat up to heat sooner. I don't believe that will cause them problems. It is just that they are now required to give full disclosure.

I think the point is that they had plenty of time to come clean with this fact that will count against them.

They would have been looked upon far more favourably had they have held their hands up in the first instance instead of attempting to bury everything and generally adopting a sloping shoulders stance.

Since when did any large "Corporate Body" disclose the truth 'on day 1'?
Time and time gain we see a scandal/crisis, and the gut reaction of the senior people is threefold.
1) Go into stealth mode and hope the bullets miss you.
2) See who can be lined up to take the blame.
3) Admit nothing.

I may be a cynic but it happened with the banks on a huge scale. Politicians do it when a scandal hits. Oil companies do it when there's a spill or dubious business practices.
And so it goes on.

SWMBO has an 'affected' Skoda Yeti 4x4. Letter arrived from 'Director of Skoda UK' today.....'I am writing with reference to the recently highlighted emissions issue regarding EA189 diesel engines and am now in a position to confirm that your vehicle is affected by this issue'

It goes on to say that the vehicle is safe to operate etc etc at no point in any of the four paragraphs is their an apology or an admission of guilt (of course)of any wrong doing or for selling her a car that was clearly misrepresented.

It was all an 'issue' it seems not a blatant attempt to dupe the authorities and their customers by being a bunch of lying corporate sh&ts ....

Very disappointing from a so called responsible organisation.

Bill Clinton springs to mind and Teflon all a bit messy.

I hope they sort this out for you in a gracious way.

Today I got notification from Porsche Austria that two of my 3 Audi/Volkswagen cars are to be adapted in the near future.
I wonder if the S&S motor on the M3W is so much better for the environment burning some 30% more petrol on the same milage than the Audi or VW do.
