How awful to hear about a damaged car - particularly an 8. As was said earlier, it must have been something major in the road.

One of the advantages of growing up with an older morgans is that as you drive, you are constantly scanning the road for potholes and bumps to avoid.

One of the advantages of growing up with an older morgans is that as you drive, you are constantly scanning the road for potholes and bumps to avoid. Oh, so true! The disintegrating roads of South Glos keep you on your toes, and encourage you to keep a good gap between you and the car in front so evasive action can be taken.

Similar thing happened to a bloke who was visiting over here in Ireland-local dealer was advised that it had to go back to the factory as oil starvation meant the valve train needed to be reset.

Wonder if insurance covers that!
This has been an issue for all the non compliant (less than 100mm ground clearance) post 2006 Morgan's sold in Australia. My insurance company made it clear that that if the car was non compliant, you could forget about a successful claim.

The owner cracked the sump on someting in the road, lost oil and ....
.....
Wonder if insurance covers that! What kind of insurance would cover such incident?

As an ex biker I remain slightly paranoid about road surfaces. What would be annoying when driving a car can be an accident when riding a bike.

I had a close encounter on the way to the Mog at Buxton. A blind left hand bend with a piece of dry stone wall in the road. It passed underneath without catching but must have been close.
