Perhaps this is a bit unfair as I havent driven the buggy but today I had a sad moment when the M3W was nocked off the 1st place of autocar's top 5 lightweights. By the ariel nomad.
sad day.

Maybe that's enough of a reason to set sail to the New World...

In the "Light weight" sports class, we have the M3W, the Alfa 4C, the Fiat 500 Abarth, and of course, the Miata.

The Alfa is a testosterone machine that goes to 60 in 4 seconds, the Abarth is too cute for anyone with a "Y" chromosome, and surely over the age of 17, and the Miata is a very convincing copy of a every proper 60's British sports car. Which leaves the MTW all by it's own glorious self...

The Nomad seems to be a toy, with no practical use other than hooning about green lanes and off road.

So I discount it.

That leaves the M3W where it belongs!

I've said it a few times. A car like the Ariel Nomad would be a natural in the Morgan range given the Morgan history in trials competition.

It is not difficult to find a successful constructor of this type of chassis. A deal could be made for the supply of a chassis to suit one of the Morgan engines and then the company could build and fit the rest: the engine cowls, what little bodywork there is, mudguards, electrics, and so on.

It would finish up like the love child of a trad and an M3W on steroids and out to play in the mud.

Isn't that a description of an M3W? A toy with no practical use other than hooning. Hooning is great fun.
