I have started to use the tonneau cover for my 2 seater and find the drive a bit warmer on a cold day. My tonneau is a traditional 1 zip cover and I consider to make it into a 3 zip to reduse airflow over hips/legs. Anyone who have a 3 zip tonneau? Is it worth the money (135£) to change my tonneau to a 3 zip?

I put the sidescreens up when it is cold. The heating is rather efficient on my 4/4. I've got a 3zipper but do not like to drive with the tonneau.

I had a three zip tonneau on the +4 - works really well in the cold. I'm not keen on using sidescreens - no room to hang elbow over the door! Each to their own!!

I would definitely recommend converting to a 3-zip tonneau. When the weather's cold you can fasten the driver's side, thereby cutting out all the drafts. Well worth it.

Had mine a good few year but dont notice any difference on my side RHD yet claims its a hell of a lot better on her side . In my eyes the heat just gets sucked up and out when just me driving. Our weather is about on par with yours. See if you can have a go in one before you take the plunge.

Is it best to get existing tonneau modified - or is a new "three zipper" called for?
If so, how much and where do I get one?
Cheers

Hi David, I would think it probably depends on the condition of your existing tonneau cover, if it's in good nick I would get it converted, as new tonneau covers aren't cheap. I think I paid Steve Simmonds around 500 quid to make mine, and that was back in 2009.

Had a 3 zip tonneau cover on my last car and it was brilliant with the drivers side in place the reduction in drafts and extra retention of heat made a massive difference and you can use it with or without the side screens. Mine was from Allon & White and was altered a couple of years later to fit a Librends roll bar I had added, cost was about £650 from memory but that was a few years ago. Current cover is the Morgan factory one which I need to get round to altering to 3 zip as it is noticeably colder, and winter hasn't even arrived yet.

Thinking about it perhaps mine didn't cost that much but was certainly more than £280 which sounds like a bargain. I have sold the old car now and all the invoices went with it so can't check. Whatever the cost it was beautifully made and fitted perfectly. Mohair, three zips and the drilling and additional fasteners needed to fit as the car didn't originally have a tonneau cover certainly added to the material and labour costs.
