Thinking about replacing the bumpers on my 1990 Plus 8 with bumper guards similar to ones found on roadster or from a Sprite. Will Sprite guards fit? Like the clean look. Anyone know of sources or has anyone done this?

They are said to be from the Sprite but stainless. Rear brackets were available from the factory to adapt from bumper as I recall but at the front you will probably need the factory brackets which will be £££££. This doesn't look quite the right shape in the photo. https://www.ahspares.co.uk/austin-healey/sprite/Bumpers/BUMPERETTE-rear.aspx

EJS, Are you intending to remove the full length bumper and replace it with over riders because I remember watching Kevin Vernon doing this and he telling me that it was very expensive and not straight forward.

Bruce UCHIDA'S BMW powered Austin Healey Sprite is interesting.

Yes, intending to remove entire rear bumper and replace with overiders. One reason is that existing bumper will cover part of US license plate and it will not be visible.

I tend to think the older cars look nice with bumper blades, mine has one at the front but only overriders at the rear which does make the rear wings and body slightly more vulnerable to minor knocks.
