I live near a lot of very curvy roads so that may influence my tire wear. I run 0 degrees toe, about 26 to 27 psi and I have a set of the Empire upper A arms using their camber settings which were pretty close to stock.
About 10,000 miles can be attributed to a month on the road each of the two previous summers.
Being so narrow, our tires carry quite a load during cornering. I imagine they would last quite a bit longer if I only drove in a straight line but where is the fun in that...

My first set of Avons lasted to 3500 miles. 2nd set ran up to about 7000 miles after I kicked up the tire pressure to ~27 lbs. The Blockleys then went on for over 8000 miles at 27 lbs until the toe out ate them. I now watch the toe in setting as it does drift as well as constantly adjusting the pressure.

Having the "comfort kit" installed increased the life significantly as the geometry improved and the tires weren't scrubbing as much.

The tire wear seems excessive, are these radial tires or bias ply? Also, what kind of task is to repair the rear tire? It looks like it could be quite an ordeal.

I'm on my fourth pair of fronts (Avons then three sets of Blockleys) and my fourth rear as well after a bit over 19000 miles.
"Always driven gently with the utmost care and respect, officer" and very rarely overtake on fun roads. Or possibly overtaken, never been very good at grammar. I also live in close proximity to lots of twisty roads.
Fronts are crossplys, rear is a radial and yes, changing it is a bit involved.

I will admit that this car invites hoonish behavior as well as "Oh yeah, You think you can blow me off?!" and then the fun commences. On the last of my second rear tire as of 20,500 miles but no matter. I don't light up the rear anymore. So we all bought this ridiculous for what reason? To drive sensibly? Sedately? Um, no.

My first set of Avons lasted about 5,000 miles but that included about 3,000 miles with the original bump steer suspension set up that wore the tyres very quickly, even on straight roads. I have done about 2,500 miles on the second set of tyres, Blockleys, they seem to wear much better than the Avons. The rear tyre lasted almost 7,000 miles.

The big improvement to front tyre life was the fitting of the Empire front suspension kit so removing the variable toe angle that feathered the tread. The improved handling with the Empire Kit can also help reduce tyre life, as rolsmith has shown....well were is the fun in economy driving?

My original Avons lasted 6000 miles. I had the comfort kit fitted at 2200 miles. I increased front pressures to 25 psi but cannot remember at what point. Before changing to Blockley I had geometry checked as L/h seemed to be wearing more. The Blocleys are at 25 psi but at 700 miles to soon to gauge life. The rear runs 28 psi & looks OK for another 4K.

Tim, other than toe-in, what geometry can you check on a M3W? The caster / camber is not adjustable as I understand it.

Dan, caster and camber ARE adjustable with the Empire Kit

sorry, I should have said that, but not knowing who has what, I just assumed a standard M3W.

So what are the camber / caster, about 1- and 8+, give or take a slight amount?
